In Loving Memory of Joanne Wasson Conley May 30, 1937 – April 28, 2025 With profound love and cherished memories, we celebrate the life of Joanne Wasson Conley, who passed peacefully on April 28, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on May 30, 1937, in Georgetown, Kentucky, Joanne's life was a reflection of grace, faith, and deep devotion to her family and her Lord. Joanne was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Orville and Pearl Payne; her first husband, Herman Wasson; her second husband, Guy Conley; her son-in-law, Gary Tipton; and her dear sisters, Wanda Noel and Sonja Cartwright. While she endured much loss throughout her life, she faced it all with strength, dignity, and unwavering faith. Joanne spent many years working in a law firm, where she was known for her diligence and professionalism. Her warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on all who met her. A long-standing member of Crosswalk Worship Center in Enon, her faith was not just something she practiced on Sundays—it was the heartbeat of her life. She served and worshipped with humility, offering encouragement and love to others in both word and deed. Joanne was a gifted gardener who took great pride in her yard, finding joy and peace among blooming flowers and green spaces. Her love of reading and playing cards was well-known to family and friends, and her competitive yet joyful spirit made her a favorite partner at the table. More than anything, Joanne’s heart belonged to her family. Her role as a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend was one she held with reverence and unconditional love. She is survived by her children: Paula Tipton, Pamela (George) Fernandez, Steven (Stephanie) Wasson, and Heather (Richard) Cavender; her brother, Tommy Payne; her grandchildren: Jarrod, Erica, Jason, Justin, Holly, Matthew, Seth, Kyle, Ryan, Taylor, Rick, and Missy; her beloved special niece, Robyn Banks; and 25 great-grandchildren who brought her boundless joy. She is also remembered fondly by countless other relatives and dear friends whose lives she touched deeply. Joanne’s legacy is one of love, faith, and family—an enduring reminder of the power of kindness, resilience, and quiet strength. A funeral service honoring Joanne’s life will be held on Friday, May 2, 2025 at 12:00 PM at Crosswalk Worship Center in Enon. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM, one hour prior to the service.
