Mary Ann Eldridge

Mary Ann Eldridge, 97, of Enon, passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2025. She was born on December 5, 1927 at home in Osborne, Ohio to the late H. Fowler and Eva (Comer) Hupman. She attended Enon High School and attended the annual alumni banquet for many years. Besides being a mother and homemaker, she held many jobs. She was the Village of Enon Clerk-Treasurer for 31 years and was also the newspaper coordinator for the local delivery of the Dayton Daily News, distributing papers to the local businesses as well as the young route carriers in the area. She also sold Tupperware and Avon to supplement her income for her family. Later she started a career as a cashier at the Fulmer’s grocery stores in Springfield where she became a familiar face for many patrons. She is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Charles Spink of nine years, loving husband Harry Eldridge of forty-four years, her sister D. Maxine Kasper, her brother R.E. “Gene” Hupman, grand-daughter Alana Spink, and great-grandson Mateo Patterson. Mary Ann leaves behind to cherish her memory her six children; Jeff (Betsy) Eldridge, of Beavercreek, Mary Jo Patterson, of Columbus, Randy (Gayalene) Eldridge, of Springfield, Mark Spink, of Marysville, John (Vicki) Spink, of Springfield, Bonnie (James) Clucus, Plain City, twelve grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and extended family and friends. She will be remembered for her mad card playing skills, her cooking experiments (she was a fantastic cook), her dislike of her photo being taken, and her sharp mind and memory. It was very difficult to beat her in cards! She hosted many friendly poker games at her home with longtime friends and family and her solitaire skills were superior to most! She attended The Ohio State University briefly and was a life-long Buckeye fan and followed the games closely, never missing a game. She was an avid sports fan; she loved following the Cincinnati Reds and many PGA players as well. But her greatest gift was her care and love for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed beyond words. Adkins Funeral Home in Enon will be assisting Mary Ann’s family with her final wishes. A visitation will be held at Adkins Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, from 11:00 AM- 1:00 PM.
