Rebecca Jo “Becky” (Gossett) Brown, 71, of Springfield, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on July 1, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Becky had fought a long and hard battle with renal cancer for five years. She was too stubborn to give up until the last day. Born on January 31, 1955, Becky was the beloved daughter of Richard and Charlotte (Mougey) Gossett, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her devoted husband of 51 years, James Howard Brown; her brother, David W. Gossett; her sister-in-law, Kimberly Gossett; and her dearly loved Daughter in law Michelle (Shelley) Kaeser-Brown. Becky leaves behind a large loving family who will forever cherish her memory: her son, Chad W. Brown and wife Sara; her daughters, Andrea Schoenfeld and her husband, Chris; Autumn Marshall and her husband, Jason; and Amber Tipton and her husband, Ronnie. She was a proud grandmother to 19 grandchildren and great-grandmother to five great-grandchildren. She is survived by her sister, Saundra (Sandy) Chatfield and her husband, Jim; her brother, Doug Gossett and his wife, Bonnie; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends. Becky retired from Navistar after many years of dedicated service before continuing to work at Home Depot, where she enjoyed staying active and meeting people. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures. Becky loved reading a good book, crocheting gifts for those she loved, bowling, playing cards, and, most of all, spending time with her family. In her younger years, she enjoyed camping, boating, and even waterskiing, creating countless memories with those she loved. Anyone who knew Becky knew she could spend hours on the phone carrying on a conversation about anything, everything and yet nothing at the same time. She had a remarkable gift for making people feel heard. While she often kept her own feelings close to her heart, beneath her quiet exterior was an incredibly kind and compassionate woman. She was the person family and friends turned to when life became difficult, not because she always had the answers, but because she listened without judgment and cared deeply. Becky’s greatest legacy is the love she shared with her family. Her unwavering devotion, quiet strength, and generous heart will continue to live on through the many lives she touched. Though she will be deeply missed, the memories she created and the love she gave will remain with her family forever. In accordance with Becky’s wishes, she will be cremated, and no funeral services will be held, however a Celebration of Life will be held at Adkins Funeral Home in Enon, on Wednesday, July 15, 2026.
