Walter William "Bill" Camden

Walter “Bill” William Camden, 71, of Springfield passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 28, 2024 at his home in Springfield. He was born Tuesday, August 26, 1952 in Springfield to the late William Camden and Delores Doss Dunham. Growing up Bill had a passion for hunting, fishing and had always dreamed of owning his own lake. He made his dream come true by opening Bill’s Trout Lake, that he proudly owned and operated for over 20 years. Bill’s Trout Lake was a place that inspired great memories for all his family who helped him run the business, and for all of his loyal customers and friends. While Bill loved to hunt in his younger days, his perspective changed in his later years. His love for hunting turned into a deep appreciation for nature. He loved watching all kinds of different wildlife, from the birds and deer in his own backyard, to the herons and eagles at his daughter’s home. He found joy in feeding all wildlife and even kept a garden at his home. Upon the tragic loss of his oldest daughter, Angie, Bill realized life is short and the time we have with loved ones is limited. So, the life-long homebody hit the road on a mission to make more memories by connecting with family and traveling to new places. The new and enlightened Bill was a Rolling Stone(r) who seemed to have figured out the meaning of life: Family, Peace, and Winning every card game he played. Bill is survived by two of his three children and their spouses; Walter “Bill” and Tammy Camden of New Carlisle, Rebecca “Becky” and T.J. Duncan of Yorktown Virginia, His grandchildren; Caleb, Christina, Briana(Josh), Ashley, Garrett(Mariah) and Alayna. His great granddaughters; Emery(Ashley), Hayden(Briana) and Kenzley(Garrett). He was eagerly awaiting the birth of his first great grandson Grayson(Ashley). Sisters; Marilyn Johnson and Catherine(Rodgers) O’neill of Springfield. Lifelong friends; Charlie Mansfield of Pomeroy, Billy Shannon of Dayton and Linda McKelvey. We’d also like to include a few additional family members; Former wives Valerie Crable (Angie, Bill and Becky) and Betty Camden. Betty’s children Johnna and Bob. As well as Johnna and Bob’s children; Steffani, Justine, J.R. and Zach. Bill also had numerous nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his father, William Camden and his mother, Delores and Gerald Dunham, his sister Carol Hillis and his daughter Angela (Angie) Mansfield. Rest easy cake.
