William N Svendsen

William N. Svendsen, 90, of Enon Thursday, December 24, 2020 in Dayspring of Enon. He was born Sunday, August 31, 1930 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late William E and Opal Oliver Svendsen. William worked at O.S. Kelly for many years and Kincaid’s Music as an accountant. Later, he worked at and retired from the Whittaker Corporation in West Alexandria, Ohio. Known as “Bill” to his friends and family, he enjoyed playing golf, working crossword puzzles, and vacationing. Bill graduated from Springfield High School in 1948 and played trombone in the school band. In the late 1950’s and 60’s, he played in the Freddie Peare Orchestra and Quintet, a dance band, performing at various venues around Ohio. He was also an avid bowler for many years, bowling in leagues with his father. William and his wife were long-time residents of Enon and lived in The Willows Condominiums where they had many friends and William served on the association board for several years. During the last years of his life, William had lived at Dayspring long term care facility where he was well liked by the staff for his kindness and dry sense of humor. William is survived by his wife of 52 years, Juliana who he deeply cherished and loved. He is also survived by sons, Robert (Grace), Jon (Janet), Sean (Stephanie), daughters Denise Bockelman and Amy Stoudt, 10 grand-children, Sam Sine, Ryan Bockelman, Jamie Seiley, Lindsey Svendsen, Connor Svendsen, Teague Svendsen, Ashley Stoudt, Brandon Stoudt, Abby Svendsen and Nicholas Svendsen, great grand-children Courtney, Cloey, Taryn, Landon, Scarlett, Oliver, Anderson and Baker, and one great-great grand-son, Liam. William was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Edna Shieldcastle, Evelyn Hicks and Cheryl Svendsen. The memorial gathering is postponed due to COVID and will be held later in Spring or Summer of 2021. Adkins Funeral Home, Enon, is assisting William’s family with his final wishes.
