Dudley Clinton Bravard

Dudley Clinton Bravard, 79, of Springfield passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2021 in Fairborn. He was born Monday, December 8, 1941 in Columbus to the late Dale and Florence Bravard. Dudley graduated from the Linden McKinley High School class of 1959 and he graduated from the Ohio State University class of 1968. He worked as an inorganic chemist for nine years at the Charles F. Kettering Research Lab, then built houses for Ryan Homes, Wayne Homes, and Inverness Homes until his retirement. Dudley was an avid collector of American Indian artifacts and was the editor and photographer for the Artifact Society. Then he became an excellent shooter of black powder rifles and a fine craftsman of them. He was a member of the Blue Jacket Muzzleloaders Club. Dudley could build most anything and make it so that it lasted. The last thing he built was his and his wife’s coffins in resemblance to the old western style coffins. He often worked more than one job in his early years and provided generously for his family. After retirement he enjoyed breakfast at Youngs while making new friends. Dudley is survived by his wife, Lois, whom he as been married to for over 51 years, a son and daughter-in-law, Dudley Matthew and Nicole Bravard of Beavercreek, a daughter and son-in-law, Gretchen Candice and David Pepin of Springfield, four grandchildren; Sydney, Xander, Sadie and Samantha, numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Dudley was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings. A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, June 19, 2021 in Pleasant Grove Missionary Church, 491 W. Hyde Road Yellow Springs with Pastor Bryan Graham officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
