Sandra "Sandy" Kay Hopper Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Sandra Kay “Sandy” Poland 1957-2022 Born in Lima, Ohio on November 07, 1957, she was the fourth child of Roy and Patty (Briggs) Poland. She entered into eternal rest on May 16, 2022 at Springfield Regional Hospital. Her marriage to George Petrohilos blessed her with three children: Nicholas (Abby Whorton), Leah Marie, and Adam Petrohilos. On October 14, 2000 she married Anthony “Tony” Hopper. Always cheerful and social, Sandy worked various jobs in customer service. She especially enjoyed her last position at Dollar General in Enon, Ohio. She enjoyed keeping in touch with family and friends via Facebook. Additional survivors include a sister, Cheryl Burden of Lima, brother Douglas (Kristine) Poland of Springfield, sister-in-law Jeri Poland of Lima, and a special niece Tracy Burden Jacobs. Sandy was very close to her Briggs cousins as they enjoyed many outings together in their younger years. She was preceded in death by son Adam, her parents, brother Roy Poland Jr, sister Michele Poland, brother-in-law Michael Burden Sr, and nephew Michael Burden, Jr. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held Sunday, June 5th at 2pm. We invite family and friends to join us for an afternoon of sharing memories and stories about Sandy at The Boone, 3490 Dayton-Springfield Rd, Springfield Ohio.
