Martha Louise Pyles

PYLES, Martha Louise (Yowler) 90, departed her earthly life and began her heavenly life on October 26, 2024. She was born January 9, 1934, the third daughter of Russell M. and Glenna M. (Driscoll) Yowler in Springfield, Ohio. Martha married William Roland Pyles on March 18, 1950. They moved to Enon, OH in August 1952. Survived by one son, Luwellyn "Lu" (Susan) of Enon and three daughters, Brenda C. Sweet of Enon, Ladonna J. (Larry) Watson of Bowling Green, Ohio, and S. Louise (Kent) Reichert of Bowling Green, Ohio; Three- Grandsons: David (Emily) Pyles of Dayton, OH; Timothy Sweet and Jared Sweet of California; step- grandson Marc Sweet of California. Five-granddaughters: Sarah Pyles (Mat) Washburn of South Vienna, OH; Kim Reichert (Karl) Chambers of Rudolph, OH; Kristie Reichert (Nick) Herringshaw of Rudolph, OH; Kassy Reichert (James) Connin of Bowling Green, OH and Katy Reichert (Matt) Hamilton of Bowling Green, OH and step-granddaughter Tamara (Tony) Sweet-Hernandez and family of CA, and five g-grandsons, Konner, Karter and Kaleb Chambers, Ben Herringshaw and Grayson Connin and six g-granddaughters, Olivia and Rose Washburn, Ava Pyles, Breanna Chambers, Madilyn Herringshaw, and Amelia Hamilton. Several step-great and step-g-g-grandchildren. Also survived by four sisters-in-law, Sharon Yowler, Cora M. Yowler, Ethel Pyles, and Gertrude Clark. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings: Glenna M. (Bill) Reams, Jonathan "Bud" (Eva), Joseph "Joe" (Anne), Lawrence E. "Bish/Larry", Ellen "Midge" (Gilbert) Whitaker, Martha's twin: Arthur "Art" and Russell Jr. "Rink" (Gloria) Yowler; son-in-law, Richard Sweet and grandson, Aaron Pyles. Martha is also survived by many, many nieces and nephews, numerous great, g-g, and g-g-g nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. She graduated as a RN from Clark State Community College at age 47 and retired in 2001 from Grandview/Southview Hospital, Dayton, OH. She faithfully attended West Enon Church of God. She had been a member of the Lagonda Chapter DAR since 1988 and held the office of Regent 1996-1998; a charter member of Enon Community Historical Society; served on the Board of Directors for Springfield Fortnightly Musical Club for many years. A friend to ALL children, she was known as “Miss Martha”. Her many interests beside her children/grandchildren included babysitting, church, sewing, quilting, reading, puzzles, baking breads, visiting, etc. The family would like to thank the staff at Allen View Healthcare Center in Springfield and Day City Hospice for their loving care of Martha. Visitation will be held 4:00 - 7:00 P M, Tuesday, October 29 in Adkins Funeral Home, Enon. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 AM, Wednesday, October 30, 2024 in the West Enon Church of God, 4800 Snider Rd, Fairborn and private inurnment at Enon Cemetery on a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations to Lagonda Chapter DAR or Enon Community Historical Society will be appreciated.
