Ruth Meade

Ruth Meade, 86, of Scottsdale, Arizona passed away June 25, 2013, after a long and heroic battle with Alzheimer’s. She was surrounded with loving family in her final days as she awaited the meeting of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. It was a glorious homecoming for Ruth. To God Be The Glory! She was born August 30, 1926 in Paintsville, Kentucky to the late Fonnie and Fannie Daniels. Ruth was a member of Ruth was happiest when she was doing the Lord’s work and taking care of her family. She was involved in the forming of five church missions through the Home Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention and is a charter member of First Baptist Church, Fairborn OH and First Baptist Church, Lorain OH. She taught Sunday School for over 25 years. Her current church membership is First Southern Baptist Church Paradise Valley in Phoenix AZ. She served as the secretary at Fairborn First Baptist Church for several years and was also a successful Prudential Insurance Agent. Ruth was a wonderful mother, and grandmother and a friend to so many, and was always available to help us in any way that she could. She was a gracious reminder of true Christianity and is famously known for her love of gospel music and the baking and sharing of the best Pumpkin Bread ever made. Ruth is survived by three children; Pamela (Howard Dusek) Meade of Scottsdale, Arizona, Danny (Pat Cavanah) Meade of Omaha, Nebraska, Debbie Rogers of Enon, Ohio, a brother, Jackie Griffith, seven grandchildren, Scott Meade, Christy Meade, Jennifer Rogers, RJ Rogers, Brett Hembrough, Chad Hembrough, Katie Hembrough, two great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Winfred Meade who died April 29, 1969, six siblings, Margie Robertson, Bob Daniels, Maudie Davenport, Morris Daniels, Troy Daniels, Leroy Daniels. Funeral Service will be conducted 1:00 pm Saturday, June 29, 2013 in Adkins Funeral Home, Enon with Pastor John Hill officiating. Burial will follow the service in Enon Cemetery. A visitation will be held 11-1 Saturday prior to the service in the funeral home.
